Training and experience
  • Born and raised in Amarillo, Texas.
  • Tascosa High School Valedictorian
  • Graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.
  • Graduate of Texas Tech School of Medicine
  • Residency at the University of Texas Southwestern and Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas, a top 10 training program for internal medicine in the country.
  • Served as a Chief Medical Resident at Parkland Hospital Dallas.
  • Joined Tech as an assistant professor in the Internal Medicine department. in 2017
  • She is proud to be the first recipient of the Abbie Madden Endowed Chair, a position created by the Madden family and TTUHSC to recruit physicians to the Amarillo area.
  • Dr. Shepherd has practiced in a variety of settings including at Texas Tech Physicians, VA Amarillo Healthcare System, and Northwest Texas Hospital.
  • Served as Associate Program Director for the residency, and received promotion to Associate Professor.
