Dear patients,

It is with mixed emotions that I am announcing my retirement from active practice, effective June 30th, 2025. After 29 years of practice in Amarillo and being a founder of Amarillo Medical Specialists, it is time to look at other opportunities. It has been a great pleasure providing for your health care needs over the years, and it is not easy for me to give it up.

As of July 1st, Dr. Daniela Ghetie will be taking over my practice. I am pleased that you have the opportunity to have her as your physician. Dr. Ghetie did her rheumatology fellowship at OHSU and has been in the faculty for many years. I am glad to leave my patients in her capable hands. Virginia Wright, the Nurse Practitioner that has worked at my side for more than 7 years and you know well, will stay to help take care of rheumatological needs. Of course, you may seek medical care from another doctor if you like.

Your medical records are confidential. They can only be transferred or released to you or someone you designate with your permission. If you plan to continue with this office, you can sign an authorization form to release your files to Dr. Ghetie on your next visit. If you choose to see a different physician, please sign a release form in my office as soon as possible so we can transfer your records to your new doctor. Your records will remain on file at Amarillo Medical Specialists.

I have greatly valued our relationship and thank you for your loyalty and friendship over the years. Best wishes for your future health.
